Facilities for clients

The Centre has a number of specially equipped facilities which support the activities of its members.

   • Hydrotherapy pool

The Centre boasts a fantastic hydrotherapy pool. The pool was officially opened by the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Graham Bass, on Thursday 23rd June 2011 and we are very proud that the Bramley Hill Centre is now able to offer this wonderful facility.

Because of the warm temperature of the water, hydrotherapy decreases muscle spasm, relieves pain and can increase range of movement. Water is an excellent base for exercise, providing an anti-stress environment for movement and is of huge benefit to people who find weight-bearing difficult or painful.

  • Training Kitchen

The provision of a training kitchen designed to assist use by wheelchair users permits the provision by volunteers of one-to-one instruction, enabling clients to produce simple meals or cakes which they can either eat at the Centre or take home with them.

• Fitness suite

The Centre’s an exercise room contains walking and balance aids, dumb bells and equipment for upper body exercise, including machines specifically designed for the fitness needs of wheelchair users.

• IT suite

The recently re-equipped IT with suite has six computers available for members. All have Internet access. The suite is used for Adult Education sessions and for individual activities and entertainment.

• Greenhouse

The wheelchair accessible greenhouse donated in memory of the Foundation’s former company secretary, Mary Hodgson, provides opportunities for members to take part in gardening sessions and to watch their plants grow.

• Patio

The Centre’s secluded rear area provides a quiet venue for the ever popular annual summer barbeque.
