Vacancy: Director of Services

Location: South Croydon

Reporting to, and working with, the Foundation’s trustees, to co-ordinate the day-to-day activities of the Foundation, to work with trustees and governors in developing strategy and policy, to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to be accountable for the Foundation’s budget. In addition, to provide line management, leadership and direction to the Foundation’s Centre heads while monitoring and maintaining compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations.

Vacancy: Family Support Worker

Location: Bramley Hill Day Care (South Croydon)

Part time ( flexible )

Bramley Hill Day Centre based in South Croydon has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced Family Support Worker to work with its members who have a range of physical impairments.

The successful candidate will be proactive and flexible and will visit families / individuals at home or at either of the centres liaising with outside agencies, local authorities, local and national service providers and charities to identify sources of support and financial assistance for specific needs, some of which range from equipment to housing, holidays and social activities as well as providing benefits advice and coordinating activities for carers.

This is a rewarding role with scope to be involved in developing new services.

Vacancy: Driver / Carer

Location: Bramley Hill Day Centre

Bramley Hill provides a friendly environment with work, social and educational activities and therapeutic facilities for people with cerebral palsy, other physical disabilities and learning disabilities.
We are seeking a qualified care assistant with NVQ Level 2 /3 in Health and Social care who has a clean driving license to carry out the following duties for our busy day centre in South Croydon.

The appointed person will:

  • Provide safe transportation to and from the Day Centre
  • Be part of a team responsible for providing a caring environment for clients attending the centre.
  • Provide personal care and support during the course of the day,
  • Be involved with the general work and activities taking place at the Centre as appropriate, and
  • Will assist and support clients with any outside activities.

We are a mixed day school for children between the ages of 2-19 years who have profound and multiple learning difficulties with physical disabilities and complex medical needs; many also have visual and hearing impairments. All of our pupils are wheelchair users, are medically dependent and require support with personal care. Pupils have access to fantastic facilities which include: hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms and onsite physiotherapists and registered nurses.

We are recruiting for an excellent Kitchen Assistant. The role will be for 5 days per week, part time, term time only (including two weeks in the summer holidays for Summer Club) and the hours of work are from 8:30am to 2.30pm, reporting to the School Chef.

We are looking for candidates who can embrace the working environment, have compassion, resilience and be flexible due to the nature of our children.

We are recruiting for an experienced Administration Assistant to work in our small but busy school office and will report directly to the Office Manager.
The role will be for 5 days per week, full time, term time only and the hours of work are from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
The salary range for this role will be from 18,936 - £19,623 depending on skills and experience.

The successful applicants must be reliable, enjoy working within a childcare environment, be organised and be able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team. They must possess good interpersonal and administration skills and prove that they have eligibility to work within the UK and have willingness to be security checked through an Enhanced DBS, Barred List check, and undertake a pre-employment medical check.

Would you like to be involved in a very worthwhile charitable school educating and caring for children with profound and multiple learning disabilities and complex medical needs?

The Governors of the school, part of the Garwood Foundation, require a clerk to take minutes at periodic evening meetings, advise the Governors on procedures and be a useful part of the governance of the school. In 2012 Ofsted issued an outstanding inspection report. The Governors and Trustees hope to recruit an enthusiastic volunteer but will pay all reasonable expenses

The Centre’s activities benefit from the greatly appreciated efforts of a number of volunteers.

If you would like to help with one of our friendly activity groups we would love to hear from you. You do not necessarily need to have experience or a particular talent, just enthusiasm and an empathy with people with disabilities. We can assure you that you will find the experience fun and rewarding. In particular we would welcome help with arts & craft, one-to-one cooking, adult education classes or hydrotherapy.
