Legacy

Leaving a Legacy

Legacies are essential to the work of the Garwood Foundation. By remembering the Garwood Foundation in your Will, you can make a lasting difference by helping us to continue supporting children and adults with severe disabilities beyond your lifetime.

Making A Lasting Difference

In recent years, legacy gifts have helped us plan new services and provide additional support that otherwise would not have been possible. For example, legacies have helped us to convert the upstairs of Jean Garwood House, our residential home, to provide additional accommodation for more adults with disabilities. This is an exciting development of three flatlets with on-suite bathrooms, shared sitting-room and a specially adapted kitchen for people with disabilities. This new addition to the home gives the opportunity and encouragement to younger adults to learn skills and become more independent.

How Do I Leave A Legacy?

If you are thinking about preparing, or amending your Will, please consider making a legacy gift to the Garwood Foundation.

Please let your solicitor know our registered charity number: 272905 and registered address: The Garwood Foundation, 1A Melville Avenue, South Croydon CR2 7HZ.

You will also be able to take advantage of the substantial tax privileges that have been introduced by the government to encourage support for charities.

Legacies are very important to us. Please let us know that you have included us in your Will so that we can thank you personally.
